The Challenge: Reinventing the data approach.

Our client, a growing financing business, was challenged with managing and utilising their data in a robust and agile way. They were suffering from a fragmented data architecture, creating data silos with complex and confusing reporting outputs.

With little in-house knowledge of each report’s purpose, it resulted in massive amounts of duplication and an inconsistent approach to using the data to their, and their clients, advantage. This cost them money, time, and effort and was a limiting factor in their business growth plans.

We were engaged in developing and embedding a centralised data architecture to reinvent their ongoing approach to reporting.

Prioritising a stable platform

Firstly, we reviewed the current data situation and quickly uncovered that, due to a lack of a central data warehouse, changes to business logic required an update across all individual reports. This meant even simple changes would take the organisation significant time. With an unscalable existing solution, temperamental to breakdown, and lacking experience and skills to maintain, centralisation and introducing stability were vital to our approach.

A solution that unlocked data value and reduced costs

Our solution,

Was a medallion lakehouse architecture, built on a modern cloud platform allowing data to be held in a single location. It was secure and future-proof, as new data sources could be added as a simple pluggable process without impacting the current solution.

Our team,

Standardised reports, producing a seamless reporting toolkit which was user-friendly and consistent in its theme.

Our client,

Was able to produce and utilise their data in new ways. It provided their customer with more detailed information, which has helped position them as a leader in their field and to continue their journey as a data-driven organisation.

After introducing and establishing a DevOps process that the client technology teams not only clearly understood but could also evolve in the future, the client has reduced their overall license costs, and the changes have allowed them to start introducing AI into their business processes.
